JOB SUMMARY

As a delivery driver, you will operate in a dynamic environment, running daily routes with frequent stops. You'll be responsible for loading products onto hand trucks and unloading them at each customer location. Each driver operates within a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck and returning it empty after the route. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with loading and palletizing products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure efficient route management, meeting or exceeding timeline expectations. Unload products safely, placing them in designated areas, and managing all weather conditions during transport. Handle frequently lifting and moving products weighing between 1-75 pounds, with some items up to 100 pounds. Verify deliveries with customers and ensure appropriate signature collection. Report discrepancies and communicate errors/returns effectively. Address customer complaints with professionalism. Adhere to safety protocols and conduct pre-trip inspections as per regulations. Complete pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in line with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience One year of route delivery experience or relevant experience driving a straight truck preferred. Valid Commercial Driver's License is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English, understand traffic signs, and respond to inquiries. Skills Ability to operate the vehicle safely in varying traffic and weather conditions. Meet or exceed productivity standards set by the organization. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in customer relations. Plan and execute work activities independently. Familiarity with product and inventory control procedures. Communicate effectively with team members regarding routing and safety. Basic arithmetic skills; experience handling cash is a plus. Foster Customer Loyalty and Trust through effective communication and follow-up.

OTHER INFORMATION

Frequent lifting of product, up to 50 lbs, may occasionally include lifting up to 80 lbs. Ability to climb on and off the delivery truck is required.
